2024

Fonda Global showcased its Automated Lavatory Cleaning (ALAC) robot during the recent CleanEnviro Summit Singapore (CESG), held from 19 to 21 June 2024 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre Singapore

Developed in collaboration with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), the ALAC robot is an efficient and intelligent solution that automates toilet bowl cleaning, completing the process within five minutes and ensuring optimal hygiene. It can assist cleaning crew by maintaining the cleanliness of toilet bowls regularly, reducing the need for extensive and time-consuming cleaning routines. While the ALAC performs its cleaning routine, cleaning crew can concurrently inspect and clean other parts of the toilet, thereby increasing overall efficiency.

FEATURES OF THE ALAC ROBOT

ALAC is equipped with a unique semi-autonomous “five-in-one” feature allowing operators to select the tasks to execute:

  1. Remove stains on toilet seat covers
  2. Dry toilet seat cover
  3. Lift up toilet seat cover
  4. Remove stains on the inside of toilet bowl rims
  5. Remove internal toilet bowl stains

This collaboration combines Fonda Global’s industry knowledge within the integrated facilities management (IFM) sector, as well as the research capabilities of A*STAR’s Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) in automation technologies, engineering design and robotics applications. The ALAC looks to reduce the physical workload for cleaning crew and improve overall efficiency of toilet cleaning and maintenance, helping to move the workforce to higher value tasks and attract younger crew to join the industry.

🌱 Success is not just measured by projects, but also by the impact we create in our communities 🌱

We recently had the privilege of collaborating with Habitat for Humanity Singapore for the UnLitter Red Dot area clean up at Aljunied as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. It was a fulfilling afternoon as different departments came together to pick up litter and debris to preserve the cleanliness of the Aljunied neighbourhood.

👏 A huge thank you to all our colleagues who took time out of their busy schedules to contribute to this cause 👏
