Fonda Global Shares Innovations in Digital Facilities Management with JTC and NP

Fonda Global Engineering Pte Ltd extends our heartfelt gratitude to Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) for inviting our Group Chief Communications Officer Sam Chiong Kok Hon, CFM, FMP, CFME-Tier 1 to speak at the Digital Facilities Management training course for JTC staff. The comprehensive 3-day program, conducted by NP, was tailored for JTC’s managers and engineers from its facilities, property and estate divisions.
During his session, Sam introduced the SIFMA FM Expert Accreditation scheme, encouraging participants to pursue accreditation to further their professional development in facilities management. His presentation, titled “Enhancing Resilience: Future-Proofing Asset Safety Monitoring,” highlighted the latest advancements in outdoor lighting asset management. For many attendees, this was an eye-opening introduction to innovative solutions for managing assets such as roadway lighting, driveway lighting, footpaths, cycling tracks, and covered linkway lighting. Key topics included:
– CIE standards for roadway and cycling path lighting
– Illumination requirements for conflict and non-conflict areas
– UKAS and Singapore SAC accreditation on corrosion detection
The session also introduced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technology, a proven method for assessing corrosion levels in outdoor assets like lamp poles. This UK-origin technology has been integral to LTA’s streetlight maintenance program since 2005.
